I first became a Clinton supporter following the final debate before the New Hampshire primary in 1992. I worked steadily, in any way I could, big or small, through the 1996 election to elect him President twice. He had a concrete plan to cut the deficit and put Americans back to work. It was successful, too. What I liked most about Bill Clinton, though, was his sincerity, honesty, and integrity. His opponents slandered and smeared him mercilessly, and millions of dollars of investigation found him to be absolutely clean of any dishonesty. This picture was painted in January, 1993. I attempted to paint a man of vision looking toward a goal that only he can see. It was inscribed Bill Clinton: Dedicated With Hope on the eve of his first inauguration. |
