"Birds of Paradise on a Lemon Background"

This is another of the Bird of Paradise Flower Paintings on a solid background that I did over a number of years. Bird of Paradise have always been a symbol of freedom for me. I love the way they are so brightly colored as the bird soars to the sky. I did these to see the contrasts of the orange, blue, and green flowers against the Lemon Yellow. Bright lemon yellows are fun to work with because they always tend to orange or green, and you can see the greens in the background of this one. This is also another Bird of Paradise in my favorite Chinese vase.
