"Brian Jones With Recorder"
One of the greatest musicians of the Rock era, Brian Jones was the leader of the Rolling Stones, the one most responsible for their anti-social image, and the one most responsible for their variety of sound on their recordings. Brian could play any instrument he could get his hands on, including Rythmn Guitar and the recorder, which featured prominently on Ruby Tuesday and more. Brian Jones played Sitar on Paint It Black, Dulcimer on Lady Jane, Marimba, keyboards, and more. When John Lennon said Their Satanic Majesties Request was the Stones version of Sergant Peppers, he was completely wrong. The Beatles had hired an orchestra, but the Stones "Majesties" was Brian Jones on the Melotron, an early synthesizer. In my mind Their Satanic Majesties Request was the greatest album of the Rock era, with the arguable exception of the Who's Quadrophenia.
