This was our garden of hybrid irises on Islay Street. Irises seemed to grow well for us. They also happen to be one of my favorite flowers. These lined both sides of the walk, but I put them all on one side of the walk, but I put them all on one side for this picture, which was the view out of my studio window. The rose bushes that I painted many times are background accessories. The Birds of Paradise were on the other side, but I wanted them in the picture so I put them in front of the Eugenia hedge. |
