"Paul and Ann in the Redwoods (Pamplin Grove)"

Every summer when we go to Ashland, we stop to camp and hike in the Redwoods. These trees are magnificent and magical. Few things are as serene as being in a grove of huge trees over a thousand years old. It's a very humbling experience. Our favorite place to camp in the Redwoods is Van Duzen Park. There's a lot of room between campsites, and some beautiful groves. It's also close to The Avenue of the Giants, which has great hiking trails. This picture is Ann and I hiking at Pamplin Grove, the best hike at Van Duzen. Man is dwarfed by these trees.
