One of the greatest rock musicians and friends I've ever known. I like to say that everything I've got that makes life worth living I got from Skip Spence and a lot of hard work and sacrifice. This comes from the Moby Grape days with Skip just wailing on his guitar on stage. Spence was the consumate showman, and in this one he's putting on a show as he attacks his guitar. I really like the strong violet components of the background, against Leonine blonde hair, the white shirt with all the other components in the painting, and the RED around the head that sets everything on fire.
