I had been wandering around Salvador all day and stopped here for a beer. These folks were partying and I joined them. Elviane and I became friends and we all hung out together. Nobody spoke English and I didn't speak Portuguese, but we communicated fine, and it became one of the highlights of my Brasil trip.
