In the early '90's we started going to Vegas a couple times a year. We got great package deals from Vegas World. In between gambling I used to sit in the lounge, overlooking the casino, doing pen sketches. This picture is the product of those sketches. Vegas World had a space theme. The casinos all have a certain aura to them. It's an odd combination of greed, hope, and desperation. It's like Dostoyevsky's "The Gambler." He was a roulette player, and that's what inspired me to take it up the a very small way. Vegas World ultimately became the Stratosphere Tower at about the time we burned out on it. Vegas was a lot of fun for the few years that we did it. |
