| New York City Ballet is arguably the best in the world on a number of
different levels. There is the rich heritage and repertoire of Balanchine,
especially, along with Jerome Robbins and Peter Martins. In this, the company
has no equal. NYCB trains it's own dancers, who are known for their linear
purity, speed, and musicality. Wendy Whelan is one of NYCB's top dancers
over the last decade of the 20th century, and first of the 21st. This painting
is from a 1998 performance of Agon in Orange County. |
